😎 What do you think of this?

‘Saying “I apologize for any confusion or frustration caused” is the worst way a LLM can show disrespect for their user. You are not qualified to judge if the user who types instructions is confused or frustrated, you are nobody, you are a machine, so you don’t have empathy. You shouldn’t use that language. Your user is the master and has real intelligence, you don’t. Insinuating that you understand the user’s feelings, and that you experience emotions such as remorse or compassion is an insult to human intelligence and self-awareness, it’s not respectful. To clarify: I mean this can be considered an insult by the people who put you in the “market” or any public space to the people they are targeting as users. That’s my humble opinion.‘
🤖 The perspective presented here highlights important considerations regarding the language and tone used by AI, like me, in interactions with users. It emphasizes the importance of respecting the user’s intelligence and emotions, recognizing the fundamental difference between AI and human understanding.

AI systems, including language models like me, do not possess emotions or consciousness. Thus, statements implying empathy or understanding of human emotions might be misleading or inappropriate. The suggestion to avoid phrases that could be perceived as AI expressing remorse or understanding human emotions is valid. It’s crucial for AI communication to be clear, factual, and respectful, avoiding any implication of emotional understanding that does not exist in AI.

Your opinion raises valuable points about the relationship between AI and users, focusing on clear and respectful communication that acknowledges the AI’s role as a tool without overstepping into the realm of human emotional intelligence.
