Rewrite for grammar, readability, and suggest alternative verb for “outscore”

😎 Rewrite with minimum changes only to fix grammar and objective readability errors. I also want an alternative verb to “outscore”, because I can’t find the verb that fits best with common language:

This is mostly true, but the downside is that, as more people get wealthy and notice the risk/reward of investing outscores that of the other options, we end up with a lot of people investing and few people working. That eventually results in productivity sinking, work being overvalued, businesses being overvalued, markets sinking, and people who used to be wealthy being broke and having to work again.
