Songwriting and music production are likely my favorite generative AI use cases and endless sources of fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While most music generated by transformer-based models inevitably produces a perception of inexplicable <strong>&#8220;soullessness&#8221;<\/strong> that is behind most of the AI hate and the discourse created around <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/AI_slop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">&#8220;AI slop,&#8221;<\/a> just as happens with long text produced by LLM inference, some of us enjoy the process of endless iteration and experimentation until we find something we consider unique and representative of our creative ideas and craft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find my public music creations on <a href=\"https:\/\/suno.com\/@reddgr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"Reddgr at Suno\">Suno<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/david-gonz-lez-romero\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Soundcloud<\/a>. Among my songs, there are two main music &#8220;genres&#8221; I&#8217;ve made up, which pretty much align with some of the core topics in the Talking to Chatbots blog: &#8216;LLMdelia&#8217; and &#8216;Meme-Wave&#8217;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/suno.com\/playlist\/618e66d5-79c3-43a8-aa69-ced791ebe066\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>LLMdelia<\/strong><\/a> comprises any song in any style whose lyrics include references to genAI, LLM-generated content, and those clich\u00e9 words that immediately ring a bell for hardcore chatbot and LLM users (<a href=\"https:\/\/suno.com\/song\/99b35f9f-64e4-4c89-b9c2-50588caa49d2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">ever-evolving landscapes, intricate tapestries&#8230;<\/a>). I introduced one of my favorite LLMdelia creations (<a href=\"https:\/\/suno.com\/song\/54cb5e28-736c-4741-a44a-eb1859a22a06\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Enshittification &#8211; Welcome to the AI Bubble<\/a>) in the <a href=\"https:\/\/talkingtochatbots.com\/cant-stop-partying-hedonism-love-and-the-enshittification-of-everything-ttcb-xv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Can\u2019t Stop Partying: Hedonism, Love, and the Enshittification of Everything (TTCB XV)\">Can&#8217;t Stop Partying post<\/a> a few months ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While LLMdelia lyrics are a great fit for rap and spoken word beats generated and refined with Suno prompts, I found on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/suno.com\/playlist\/254fbba2-0d60-49e4-b0d5-9e419e0b4cb5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Meme Wave<\/a><\/strong> a kind of &#8216;heaven&#8217; among the &#8216;soullessness&#8217; feel in most AI songs I mentioned earlier&#8230; Through experimentation and a fair deal of trial and error, I discovered that prompts including references to some of my favorite music genres from the 1980s tend to yield natural-sounding songs and some subjective aura of &#8220;authenticity&#8221; that I hardly see in any other songs posted on Suno or other platforms for music generation. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Post-punk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Post-punk<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_wave_music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">new wave<\/a>, and<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dark_wave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\"> darkwave<\/a> are the musical sources of inspiration for lyrics I imbue with my own satirical views on the world, current events, and, of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kAswH10WhFE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">memes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Meme Wave song I&#8217;m sharing was inspired by current events, the ubiquitous and unavoidable presence of Elon Musk in everyone&#8217;s life, and a concept so inevitably tied to him and his personality that he once posted the perfect title, and half of the chorus, for this song:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Embrace cringe <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hGPSpfIh0P\">pic.twitter.com\/hGPSpfIh0P<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1796051160731676909?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 30, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Any resemblance of the AI-generated voice to Grimes&#8217; is pure coincidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/duckduckgo.com\/?t=h_&amp;q=grimes+elon+musk&amp;iax=images&amp;ia=images\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"573\" src=\"https:\/\/talkingtochatbots.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/elon-musk-grimes-duckduckgo-search-1024x573.png\" alt=\"Screen capture of a DuckDuckGo image search results page for &quot;Grimes Elon Musk.&quot; The search bar at the top displays the query, and the results are arranged in a grid format, showing multiple images of Elon Musk and Grimes together at various events.
