In the United States, for example, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has classified Bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies as commodities.<br><br>2. <strong>Securities<\/strong>: Some cryptocurrencies, especially those sold through Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), have been considered securities in certain jurisdictions. In the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken the position that some ICOs and tokens can be considered securities and are subject to securities regulations.<br><br>3. <strong>Currency or Money<\/strong>: In some cases, cryptocurrencies are treated as a form of digital currency or digital money.
